Chief Dtsa’hyl reminds CGL of their eviction from the Wet’suwet’en Yintahs

On January 15th, 2020, Hereditary Chief Dtsa’hyl encountered CGL security and surveyors from the McElhanney Engineering Company surveying the right of way for the Coastal Gas Link Ltd pipeline company on Likhts’amisyu territory. This was near the Parrot Lake Village that the Likhts’amisyu have reclaimed and are building. The workers were asked to identify themselves and reminded that they were evicted from the Wet’suwet’en Yintahs.

According to Chief Dtsa’hyl, “All of our interactions were polite. I asked them to respect our eviction. They then gathered up their gear and left our territory without incident.”
